The Allure Best of Beauty 2025 Submission Guidelines

The first Best of Beauty Awards ran in Allure in 1996. In the 29 years since, we’ve never wavered in our commitment to finding the products that don’t just do what they say they’ll do, they do it better than the rest. We test and test (and test) and consult a panel of expert judges—including top makeup and nail artists, hairstylists, cosmetic chemists, and dermatologists—in pursuit of the best of the best.

We are now accepting submissions for Allure‘s 2025 Best of Beauty Awards. Here’s everything you need to know about getting your product in front of our editors.

How to Submit Products for Consideration

We have an automated submission form that you can find below or by clicking HERE. The deadline for all submissions is Friday, November 15 by 11:59 p.m. EST.

Before you begin, please read the important notes below.

Product launch date:

You can submit any product that will be available for purchase in mid-September 2025, when the awards are announced. There is one exception: Limited-edition products will not be considered.

Number of submissions:

The beauty landscape has grown exponentially in recent years. In order to ensure that we have the resources we need to maintain Allure‘s high standards throughout the Best of Beauty testing process, this year we are limiting submissions to five new* products per brand across the main Best of Beauty categories**.

Any submissions beyond five will require a $195 per product entry fee. That fee can be submitted via the link to Allure Best of Beauty 2025 supplemental product submission payment. If you have more than one additional submission, please make sure to add the quantity and fee for each product. Email your receipt of payment to [email protected].

Please note that although we are only asking for new products to be submitted, past winners will still be considered for the 2025 awards. We always consider previous winners during the deliberation process—they do not need to be submitted. (If a previous winner is being discontinued or reformulated, please note this in the submission form.)

*New products are those that were not available for 2024 Best of Beauty testing, with launch dates between October 2025 and September 2025.

**The main Best of Beauty categories are Skin, Body, Hair, Makeup (Eyes, Lips, and Base), Nails, Tools, and Scent.

In submitting an entry for any of the categories included in the Best of Beauty and/or One to Watch Awards, you accept and agree to these terms & conditions, which may be updated from time to time without prior written notice at our sole discretion.

Samples for testing:

After we review all submissions, we will reach out to request samples for testing. As a rule, we ask for samples of new product submissions that we have not yet had the opportunity to test widely amongst the team.

Testing timeline:

The 2025 Best of Beauty submission form opens on October 21, 2024. We will call in products for testing on a rolling basis, starting November 1, 2024. If you want to submit a 2025 launch for which you don’t yet have a final launch date or MSRP, please put “TBD” on the submission form when prompted. We will reach out for more information in early 2025.

Best of Beauty Clean

Best of Beauty also includes a Clean seal to celebrate the best beauty products that meet the Allure Clean standard. These submissions can be made HERE, but require a $295 per product entry fee to support the due diligence involved in ensuring that each product meets our standard. The fee can be submitted via the link to Allure Best of Beauty 2025 Clean product submission payment. If you have more than one Clean submission, please make sure to add the quantity and fee for each product. Email your receipt of payment to [email protected].

Best of Beauty Breakthrough

The most revolutionary beauty products have a chance of winning an award for Best of Beauty Breakthrough. Products that earn an Allure Breakthrough Award do more than just perform beautifully, they transform beauty routines with a new ingredient, technology, or design.

A Breakthrough submission can be for hair, makeup, skin, or fragrance. The category also includes devices and in-office procedures. A 2025 Breakthrough submission must have a launch date between September 2024 and September 2025.

To determine our Best of Beauty Breakthrough winners each year, our editors go beyond their rigorous testing practices to dig deep into the science behind each product, assessing how the product is changing the beauty landscape. To support this painstaking process, submissions for Best of Beauty Breakthroughs require a $695 per product entry fee. Payment for those submissions can be made HERE. If you want your product(s) to be considered for a Breakthrough Award, first submit the fee at Allure Best of Beauty 2025 Breakthrough product submission payment. If you have more than one Breakthrough submission, please make sure to add the quantity and fee for each product. Email your receipt of payment to [email protected].

The deadline for all submissions (with some exceptions) is Friday, November 15 by 11:59 p.m. EST. If you are unable to make the November 15 deadline, there will be another opportunity to submit products launching later in 2025 in the new year; we will re-open the submission form for a limited time in January 2025.
