Valentine’s Day is all about romantic dinners, gifts and gestures. And for travel lovers, there’s no better surprise than a truly swoon-worthy trip.

With that in mind, TripAdvisor, travel community and booking site, just announced the winners of its Travelers’ Choice awards for romantic hotels. The winners are based on millions of reviews and opinions from travelers over one year.

Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort Aruba in Palm-Eagle Beach, Aruba, was named the most romantic hotel in the world. The adults-only resort is perched on a beachfront and has two restaurants, an infinity pool and spa. “From the moment I arrive to the time I leave I am in heaven,” one reviewer wrote. “The staff, the grounds, the beach and everything in between couldn’t be better.”

The Old Rectory Hotel in Martinhoe, United Kingdom, came in second place, proving that historic countryside charm can make for a great couple’s getaway as well. “Set in a tucked away village on Exmoor with the most charming, secluded garden and the coastal footpath on the doorstep, we found ourselves an oasis of calm,” wrote a reviewer.

The United States’ top romantic hotels followed a similar pattern. Coming in at No. 1 is Henderson Park Inn in Destin, Florida, a New England-style hotel on the Gulf Coast.

No. 2 is Wentworth Mansion in Charleston, South Carolina, in the city’s Historic District amid quaint cobblestone streets. It is known for its evening aperitifs, followed by nightly turndown service with house-made chocolate. “The hotel is a perfect combination of old and new, elegant but relaxed. The small touches such as wine and hors d’oeuvres added to the experience,” noted a TripAdvisor reviewer.
